Some observant public officers have taken word that the Home has handed the Defending Our Communities From Failure to Safe the Border Act of 2023, laws championed by Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, New York Republican, and 16 co-sponsors. The laws would prohibit federal funding from getting used to supply housing for migrants on any federal park land and retroactively cancel the lease settlement at Floyd Bennett Area — the primary municipal airport in New York Metropolis. In November, that subject turned the location of a housing-tent complicated for some 2,000 migrants in search of asylum within the U.S..
